A few days ago, a green development alliance for methanol-to-olefins (MTO) and its downstream industrial chain was established in Guangzhou.
The alliance is jointly initiated by Sinopec Guangzhou (Luoyang) Engineering Company, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lianhong New Material Technology Co., Ltd., and consists of 13 MTO and downstream related scientific research institutes, engineering companies, and production enterprises.
The alliance aims to further promote the transformation of high-tech achievements in the low-carbon olefin industry and the development of high-tech industrialization, promote the opening and sharing of scientific and technological resources, form an extensive multi-level innovation cooperation mechanism, and continuously improve the green development level of MTO and its downstream industrial chain.
At the founding meeting of the alliance, Liu Zhongmin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Dalian Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as the honorary chairman of the alliance, and Dalian Institute of Chemistry, Sinopec Guangzhou (Luoyang) Engineering Company, and Lianhong New Materials Company were elected as the alliance chairman units.
In the subsequent technical exchange, Academician Liu Zhongmin gave a special lecture on "Research Progress of Methanol-to-Olefin Technology"; experts such as national design master Liu Yu exchanged views on MTO and its downstream industrial chain under the background of "double carbon" from different perspectives The latest technological progress and scientific and technological research direction. The delegates also discussed how to build MTO and its downstream green development industry chain.
