1. As a new feed additive. Feeding calcium formate to gain weight and using calcium formate as feed additive for piglets can promote appetite and reduce diarrhea rate of piglets. Adding 1% ~ 1.5% calcium formate to piglets diet can obviously improve the production performance of weaned piglets. A German study found that adding 1.3% calcium formate to the weaned piglets diet can improve the feed conversion rate by 7% to 8%, and adding 0.9% can reduce the occurrence of diarrhea in piglets. Zheng Jianhua (1994) added 1.5% calcium formate to the diet of piglets weaned at 28 days of age for 25 days, and the daily gain of piglets was increased by 7.3%, the feed conversion rate was increased by 2.53%, the protein and energy utilization rate were increased by 10.3% and 9.8%, respectively, and the diarrhea of piglets was significantly reduced. Wu Tianxing (2002) added 1% calcium formate to the diet of three-hybrid weaned piglets, the daily gain increased by 3%, the feed conversion rate increased by 9%, and the diarrhea rate of piglets decreased by 45.7%. Other things to note are: the use of calcium formate is effective before and after weaning, because the piglets' own secretion of hydrochloric acid strengthens with age; Calcium formate contains 30% easily absorbed calcium, in the preparation of feed should pay attention to adjust the proportion of calcium and phosphorus.

2. Use it in architecture. Fast setting agent, lubricant and early strength agent for cement. Used in building mortar and various concrete, speed up the hardening speed of cement, shorten the setting time, especially in winter construction, to avoid low temperature setting speed is too slow. Calcium formate uses: all kinds of dry mix mortar, all kinds of concrete, wear-resistant materials, floor industry, feed industry, tanning. The amount of calcium formate is about 0.5~1.0% per ton of dry mortar and concrete, and the maximum addition amount is 2.5%. The amount of calcium formate is gradually increased with the decrease of temperature, and even if the amount of 0.3-0.5% is applied in summer, it will play a significant early strength effect.
